UPCOMING EVENTS
Each featured writer will read a piece specially written for the evening followed by a conversation with Rhapsody creator Michael French.
A conversation that ultimately will be stripped of its make-up and turned over to the audience to do with as it wishes. A dance party will crown each evening as our bursting hearts will need somewhere to go: Let’s travel the world with MUSIC!
ONLINE WRITING CLASSES
You’re ready to get your work out there. Now what? “The multifaceted publishing world can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be!” says instructor Jennifer Lewis. “This three-hour class will equip writers with the knowledge and practical tools they need to confidently submit their work to contests, literary journals, and small presses.”
For beginning through more experienced writers, this class aims to demystify the sometimes confusing process of getting published while offering real-world insights and inspiration for success. Jennifer will take you through the publishing process from start to finish, including figuring out which journals and presses are right for your work, writing a cover letter and bio, and formatting your manuscript for submission. You’ll learn about various online tools and resources available for organizing and tracking submissions and get quick, hands-on experience with a couple of them. During group discussion, Jennifer will emphasize why it’s important to rack up rejections and she’ll address the vulnerability of submitting work.
